Prague, Czech Republic—Leading up to the Southeast Europe Peace Summit, which UPF is organizing in Tirana, Albania, on October 26 and 27, the Czech UPF chapter convened a special meeting and discussion with the ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the Czech Republic. This event took place in the UPF Peace Embassy on September 26, 2019.
Twenty-two participants, including three representatives of the Albanian Embassy, welcomed the ambassador, who gave a very profound and honest lecture about the history, culture, natural beauty, and current situation of his country. He started his presentation by showing a short video.
After this, he presented a slideshow with commentary. For many people in the audience, the presentation was very interesting because they could hear many new things about Albania.
A very lively discussion followed the ambassador’s presentation. The many questions from the audience included queries about traditional values in Albania, the peaceful coexistence of religious communities, and life during the communist era.
After more than two hours of discussion, the participants enjoyed refreshments that had been provided by Albanians living in the Czech Republic.
