Thimphu, Bhutan—Bhutan took part in the Peace Road 2019 by organizing a program at a Buddhist school in Thimphu, the capital of the country.
UPF-Nepal secretary general, Mr. Binod Dangi, explained the vision and activities of the Peace Road project. Former member of the Parliament of Bhutan, Hon. Pema Drukpa, who was the chief guest, gave remarks. He said: "UPF-Bhutan is doing really good [work] and goes beyond religious traditions, races and national borders. I hope this Peace Road program can bring peace in Bhutan and the world.” He added that “Conflict and fighting cannot achieve anything; but, through peace, we can do many things such as unite the races, nations and religions.” Also in attendance were two Ambassadors for Peace.
At the end of the program, UPF-Bhutan gave a small donation to the school.
