Pristina, Kosovo—UPF and two affiliated organizations staged a Peace Road event during a celebration of World Walking Day.
UPF Ambassadors for Peace, together with members of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) and Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP), organized the Peace Road event on October 4, 2020, in Germia National Park.
To mark World Walking Day, the Municipality of Pristina allowed several organizations to organize activities with the same theme. In addition to our group, there were also 200 professional cyclists from Kosovo and Albania. We followed the same itinerary together, exchanging messages of peace.
Mr. Binak Ulaj, the chairman of the Council of the Universal Peace Federation, gave a welcoming speech in which he thanked all the participants and talked about the importance of the Peace Road initiative launched by the UPF founders.
Mrs. Ejona Icka, the secretary general of UPF-Kosovo, then explained the itinerary that would be traversed by bicycle as well as some rules set by the police and the Ministry of Health to protect participants from the COVID-19 virus.
At the end of the event, the participants enjoyed a coffee in each other's company and in the fresh air that Germis Park offers.
