Argentina—“Teamwork + Fair Game + Clear Rules” was the theme of the workshop given by Ambassador for Peace Patricia Pitaluga, president of Acercando Naciones, held on July 21, 2021, broadcast through UPF-Argentina’s YouTube channel, with more than 300 views. It was the second meeting of the 2021 “Leadership and Cooperation” Series organized by UPF-Argentina and its leadership areas, IAPP IAPD, IMAP and IAAP; along with Youth and Students for Peace (YSP).
Patricia Pitaluga demonstrated her experience in strategic management and communication among people and entities, with a sports aspect applied to leadership in a very practical way. Also sharing their expertise were Paola Maggiolo, international female chess teacher, Pan-American sub-20 champion; Carlos “Beto” Rodríguez, multi-champion in wheelchair sports, author of “Sueños sin barreras”; and Alejandro Scomparin, sports fan, proponent of “Uniting Malvinas by Running” Peace initiative.
Before introducing the speaker, a few words of welcome were given by representative of IMAP-Argentina, journalist Adrián De Angelis, founder and president of the Argentina and Mercosur Union of Christian Journalists; and Professor Julio Nardini, representative of IAAP-Argentina, former Principal and Director of secondary schools in Buenos Aires.
The moderators were Luba Opeka, public relations staff of UPF-Argentina, and Emanuel Sayavedra, president of YSP-Argentina and secretary general of UPF-Argentina, who then gave details on the Series, which will consist of five meetings, one each month through October. In November, we will provide a certificate of attendance to those who ask for it and have attended at least 80% of the sessions.
This Series, organized by the different leadership areas of UPF-Argentina along with YSP-Argentina, seeks to “train and teach leadership for participation and commitment, in order to provide theorical resources and examples of good practices to face challenges for a more empathetic, cooperative leadership, focused on solutions and with a Peace perspective.”
The first meeting of the Series took place on June 16, 2021, with the theme, “Participation and Commitment / Operative Leadership in the CSO.” The workshop was given by trainer Christian Oreb, general coordinator of Red Cooperar of SCO in Buenos Aires (2). The third one will be an inspirational talk by renowned lecturer Juan Bautista Segonds, president and founder of Rugby without Frontiers.
