Madrid, Spain—After many months of not having “Peace Road” events because of COVID-19 restrictions, UPF-Spain finally organized not one “Peace Road” event—but three.
In the autumn of 2021, a combined total of about 40 UPF supporters climbed mountains in three regions of Spain—in the name of “Peace Road.”
The first climb, on September 13, was of the 2,519-meter Monsacro, called the “sacred mountain,” located in Spain’s northern region of Asturias. It was a great challenge, as it can only be climbed in a professional way. We are very proud of the young man and young woman who reached Monsacro’s peak.
The second climb, on October 3, took place in the central-western province of Ávila, the land of the 16th century mystic Saint Teresa of Jesus. This mountain is situated in the Sierra de Gredos mountain range and is called Los Galayos.
The third project was in the area of Barcelona in northeastern Spain. On October 17 a group of UPF supporters hiked to the top of a mountain in the Montseny mountain range. We were grateful for the good weather and enjoyed as a family the nature that God created. Some guests joined us as we took photographs.
