Congratulatory Remarks

It is my distinct privilege, honor, and a great joy to have these moments with you on this propitious occasion of love and dedication.  In such happy circumstances I offer my congratulations to the many thousands of couples gathered here for this World Peace Blessing. Happily, people of many races, religions, nationalities, and cultures are represented here today.

Beyond this, I am very happy to be back once again in this wonderful country of Korea. This is indeed a land blessed by God, populated by courageous citizens. The kind invitation of Father and Mother Moon is highly appreciated, and I give them all thanks and praises.

I bring greetings and best wishes from my wife, family, and all the people of Guyana and from the Ambassadors for Peace around the world.

Father Moon, you are now 90 years old, but you never slow down nor show any limitation in your determination to advance God’s providence. Your vision has for many years been the beacon light illuminating the pathway of millions. Many of us wish to have even a half of your stamina and mental acuity if we are blessed to reach four score and ten years.

You are well known the world over for the World Peace Blessing that we are celebrating today. In October of last year, along with my youngest daughter, Jubilante Deo, it was my privilege to attend the Blessing ceremony at Sun Moon University. Its awesome message of harmony, love, and peace resonated in every corner of the globe.

The Bible teaches us that Adam and Eve, our first human ancestors, fell away from God’s grace. God’s family and God’s true lineage was lost. Since that time, God has been working to restore his children. And, through these Blessings, you are working to restore the human family back to God, our eternal Father, so that we may all live together as one family under God.

Family breakdown is one of the greatest tragedies of our time. We see its terrible impact in my home country of Guyana and throughout the Caribbean. In Guyana, I’ve been pleading for our leaders to support a moral revival and secure the integrity of family as directed by Father Moon.

Father Moon, your great wisdom, and your gift to all humanity, is your teaching of the sacred value of marriage and family. For this, you are indeed the True Parents. We are grateful for your wise God-inspired guidance.

It is through the family that we are to learn and practice the true love of God. As you say, “the family is the school of love.” But where there is a breakdown of these values or a breach of the marriage vows, society is made weak and vulnerable to the forces of evil.

Father Moon, you have for all these decades been our guide and light at the end of the tunnel.

I congratulate all the couples gathered here for participating in the World Peace Blessing. The Blessing calls all of us to understand ourselves as members of one universal family under one God. It is rare to see people of diverse races, religions and nationalities gathered for such a noble cause, from Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, North America, and Oceania.

What is taking place here could be a solid example to our world leaders and the United Nations to emulate and support—a guarantee of a better world. You are a sign of hope for a world that is lost in secularism and materialism, and looking for guidance to show the way of truth and goodness.

May your marriages flourish, and may you carry this blessing to every corner of the world. May each of your families be faithful to God’s will, and may you each contribute to the establishment of the Kingdom of God. May you be fruitful, multiply, and have dominion.

Let us now join in a clarion call for the continued good health and dynamic leadership of our Founders. We wish you God’s speed, and together lift our hands and our voices to say, thank you Father and Mother Moon.

May God shower his choicest blessings upon you all.

Amen. Amen, Amen.
