Address to the UPF International Leadership Conference
Seoul, Korea, February 6 – 10, 2011
I am an Ambassador for Peace from Indonesia. As you may be aware, my country consist of 15,000 islands with around 500 languages, and our national language is “Bahasa Indonesia,” or Indonesian language.
I am very happy and honored to be part of the greatest people from around 44 countries, with various background and experiences who are dedicated their time and effort for peace.
During this three-day conference I gained a lot of knowledge and understanding from the speakers as well as from the participants about what happened in the other part of the world, how other countries do their conflict resolution, the role of UPF in the United Nations, and the role of UPF to assist a lot of countries to resolve their conflict, including the best practices to resolve conflict.
Most of the participants talked about peace and how we can contribute to achieve our common objective of peace, the guiding principles of UPF and, a world that is free from suffer, conflict, starving, poverty, and sorrow.
I do hope we can do our homework back in our country and, Insha Allah, we will meet again on other occasions to share our best practices.
Together we can do better.
With true love we can do more.
