Address to World Summit 2014, Seoul, Korea, August 9-13, 2014
The Ambassadors for Peace from Azerbaijan instructed me to convey to all of you, fighters and advocates for peace in the world, my most sincere wishes for health and well-being.
I must point out that thanks to the leadership of the Universal Peace Federation we all have the opportunity to widely and deeply exchanged views and discuss innovative approaches to establishing peace among the international community in today's complicated situation in the world.
The World Summit "Peace, Security and Human Development" is attended by high-ranking officials from different countries and continents. We have the opportunity to investigate the ways by which religions, governments, public non-governmental organizations could work together to exclude unwanted actions, critical moments that impede world peace and tranquility.
As you all know, the Universal Peace Federation aims at embodying the highest standard of management, because this has always been a dream of mankind on the historical path towards the eternal peace.
The seminars with participation of the Eurasian UPF leaders in Baku, have made, in the opinion of all the participants, an invaluable contribution to further stabilization in the region. Especially, it seems to me, we were able to convince ourselves, and the guests themselves were convinced, that the protracted Karabakh problem, by causing enormous damage to relationships of the peoples of the Caucasus, disorients the world community about the real state of affairs in the region by efforts of separatists and terrorists.
I am sorry to report to you that despite all efforts of peacemaking organizations, almost every day along the border areas there is firing by invaders, followed by unjustifiable civilian casualties.
The other day, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged the parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh to conflict to abide by the ceasefire agreement and refrain from violence. The Secretary-General expressed his full support for the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group, sharing its concern about the growing tension in the conflict zone in recent days.
Today each Ambassador for Peace, in whose country the conflict situation goes on, wants to touch on the essence of these problems. But our goal, according to the charter of the Universal Peace Federation, is to decide in favor of universal human interests.
The results of our federation's activity, from the beginning to the present day, and the events over this period in different parts of the world, lead us to the right conclusion that world peace means unity of people of different races and religions, and hostility is the greatest sin.
The leadership of our federation is always ready to provide invaluable assistance to all people of the world in addressing any conflicts that hinder progress, education of our children, and our future generations, for further development of mankind.
We have long been convinced that without help of truly democratic non-governmental institutions, the United Nations is not able to influence the course of these negative phenomena.
The results of the past century have proved once again that the trinity of unity-harmony-order is the cornerstone of all the Universal Laws.
The beginning of the Golden Age and further progress on our planet is restoration of the order, which has, unfortunately, been violated.
We all should try to break down the borders dividing nations. All people, nations and races must live in a peaceful world. I always feel nervous when talking about it, but believe me, I live dreaming about it.
