V. Jolly: Address to International Leadership Conference 2018

Address to International Leadership Conference 2018, Seoul, Korea, February 18-22, 2018

Today I bring the good wishes of the Republic of India as co-chair of India’s chapter of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) to assembled global parliamentarians and religious leaders in South Korea.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I love you all. I salute you all. Cheers!

I salute you because you are global peace ambassadors of your nations. Three cheers for you and your mission and for our host, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).

Today I commend the visionary leadership of the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon. His single name has sunand moonall in itself. Sungenerates heat and sunshine; moongenerates coolness and compassion. Imagine at the ripe young age of 80 Father Moon visited 120 nations for peace and friendship in 120 days! And all along supported by Mother Moon and guided by our dynamic president, Dr. Thomas Walsh and team.

Today the world is focused on Asia and Northeast Asia. There are looming dark clouds of nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula. Negotiations have failed to break deadlocks. Dialogues have also met the same fate, but there is still a ray of hope.

In recent times, I perceive Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the best non-aligned leader to resolve disputes and restore peace between South and North Korea. And of course he is ably assisted by the ever-humane and dynamic Indian External Affairs minister, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj.

I say this with conviction because Prime Minister Modi during past 48 months has won friendship in this divisive world by visiting the following countries: the United States, China, Russia, France, Germany, Israel, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Peace should be brokered. Talks, walks, dialogue, understanding and friendship should be encouraged. We support South Korean President Moon Jae-In and North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un in their quest for peace and reconciliation in the Korean Peninsula.
