Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on Us.
Eternal God, our Beloved Heavenly Parent, we acknowledge that it is in You that we live, move and have our being. We praise and give You thanks for having fearfully and wonderfully made us in Your divine image and likeness and for giving us the responsibility to be the stewards of Your creation. Without you, we are nothing. But, with You, we can achieve immeasurably more than the human mind or heart could ever desire or imagine.
Pour out Your spirit upon all participants gathered here today, and prosper the work of our hands during the deliberations of this World Summit on Peace, Security and Human Development. May the spiritual seeds sown by the founders of the Universal Peace Federation and its affiliates, Father Sun Myung Moon and his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, bear abundant fruit in our day as we attend and unite with them in this providential work of establishing a world of true and lasting peace. In the immortal words of Saint Francis of Assisi, may our prayer be:
Lord, make us instruments of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
Let there be Peace on Earth, and let it begin in the hearts and minds of each of us.
May Peace reign between North and South Korea, between Jews and Muslims, Protestants and Catholics. May Peace reign on the African Continent, in Europe and the Americas, between North and South, East and West until Your kingdom comes and we all stand together as brothers and sisters, One Family Under God.
