Address to International Leadership Conference 2019, Seoul, Korea, August 15-18, 2019
Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Excellency President Jonathan. Honorable Speaker de Venecia. Distinguished Participants in this International Leadership Conference sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation, and Participants in HJ Magnolia Foundation Conference.
It is my pleasure to welcome all of you this evening, and especially to offer warmest greetings on behalf of my Mother, UPF Founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who has great hopes in this conference as it is the springboard for a victorious World Summit 2020 next February.
The 2020 World Summit will be the culmination of not only my Father’s eminent legacy and profound works over his 92 years on this earth serving God and humanity, but also the culmination of my Mother’s equally grand and inspired visionary work over these past seven years that is exponentially expanding their lifetime scope of works for higher enlightenment, mutual prosperity and an end to suffering around the globe.
Moreover, my Mother is preparing for the inauguration of three new associations under the UPF umbrella: one focused on academicians and scholars, one focused on media professionals and journalists, and one focused on business leaders and entrepreneurs.
We are honored to have you all attend and join us to pay tribute to the anniversary of my Father’s passing, seven years ago. In our movement, passing on is not a sad loss of a loved one but rather a celebration of their eternal life that has peacefully returned home with our Heavenly Parent. There is not a day that goes by that my Mother and the worldwide FFWPU is not inspired and committed to wholeheartedly continue to work with him in spirit to realize our shared dream of one family under God.
In a world with so much division, conflict, and strife, being in this room with such distinguished, peace-loving people gives us a great breath of hope that our collective dream of peace is on the horizon. There is nothing that would please my Father more than to witness our collaboration and committed efforts to transform this world, putting an end to war, violence, conflict, poverty, injustice, and the devastation of our holy Earth.
I know that everyone in this room has dedicated their lives to serve to aid, relieve, reconcile, reform, and rectify the sufferings of humanity. I know that your tireless and sincere efforts to be ambassadors and leaders of peace has changed the course of history towards that mutual goal that we can all be grateful for. Our hope tonight is to take all our collective efforts and synergize, share, and unite as one coalition of peace-building citizens of the world and turn the tide of division, instability, and our shared destruction to meet its end not at a wall, but rather bridges, tunnels and roads that peacefully bring us together. I guarantee our peaceful road trip will far exceed a perilous drive toward barricades, war zones, refuges, and human suffering any day. We welcome you again on such a journey!
I understand that we have leaders of the International Summit Council for Peace, such as former president Jonathan of Nigeria and former president Paz of Bolivia (Paz means “peace.” What a great name!) Also present are leaders of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace, such as Speaker and Mrs. de Venecia, Congressman Doolittle, and others, as well as religious leaders including Reverend Johannson and Archbishop Stallings.
All of you who are gathered as part of the Magnolia Conference, welcome!
I hope your deliberations are productive and uplifting. Your work is so important. The World Summit 2020 will be the greatest and most significant event ever carried out by our movement, and perhaps something the world has never seen in terms of an assembly of world leaders from so many backgrounds and fields.
I look forward to seeing all of you the day after tomorrow at the Cheongshim Peace Center. You will all be guests of honor, and my Mother will be comforted and inspired to see all of you there.
I wish you a successful conference. Thank you for being here, and God bless you and your families. We are “one family under God.”
