Washington DC, USA – A Christmas gathering for alumni of Religious Youth Service projects took place Dec. 13, 2014 at the Peace Embassy in Washington, DC. The building was beautifully decorated, and a Christmas buffet was prepared by the UPF staff for everyone to enjoy.
Fourteen participants in RYS projects in 2013 and 2014 their friends joined four RYS staff and shared in the Christmas spirit.
A PowerPoint presentation about the 2013 and 2014 projects in Washington, DC. presented the RYS vision and work as a service-learning program. RYS brings together youth from different cultures, faiths, races and nationalities and provides opportunities to develop personal leadership and peace-building skills along with making lasting friendships.
Everyone enjoyed music and a ping-pong game. The top three winners received prizes, and a 2015 RYS calendar was given to all.
