Work Projects: The RYS had three major work sites which were rather geographically distant. The work spanned from July 5th to August 10th. These sites were located in the following communities:

  1. Baza: RYS renovated a food distribution center for the elderly gypsy population. Many people and families were living in nearby cavelike structures and could not afford regular and healthy meals.
  2. Granada: RYS built a community center and built a senior citizen center in a nearby village.
  3. Sevilla: RYS built a large concrete training center which was to be used as a drug rehabilitation center.

Summary: The program offered a rich diversity of cultural programs as well as special insights into Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Six international religious advisors came and represented their faith. A leadership training section was added to the RYS program. Each of the communities that RYS worked in expressed great appreciation for both the RYS workers and for the substantial buildings they left behind.
