Sukhothai, Thailand—
Background: The IRFF and RYS found working in Thailand to be a good investment of time and energy for the local staff is very capable and funding goes a reasonably long way. The Bangkok, Thailand is a good location for regional travel so Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia are among the nations who can send delegations rather easily to projects.
Duration: April 1 - 13, 1991
Work: RYS participants and staff helped work on a multi-purpose hall at an orphanage which was to be used as a moral education center.
Summary: This was the largest RYS project to date in the region and it attracted participants from eleven nations. The local community were highly involved and both skilled and unskilled villagers came to help with the work while others came to share their time or special snacks.
