Chittagong, Bangladesh—
Background: The RYS alumni in Bangladesh began an RYS club and started to hold meeting on campus and at other NGO locations. They worked to create and organize a second national project and could invite some of the neighboring nations to get involved. Chittagong, which has a substantial Buddhist and Christian population with many tribal residents. This diversity helped make a more exciting environment for the program.

Summary: St. Placid school a historic site offered its cooperation in the planning and in carrying out the project. RYS alumni were active in each step of the planning and in the program so they gained valuable experience and could sharpen their leadership skills.
Good inter-religious programming took place which is important in this nation with a strong Muslim majority and sporadic religious strife.
Work: RYS participants worked on painting and restoration work at St. Placid's school.
RYS alumni staff: Ms. Sangetnment agencies; primarily the Ministry of Unity and the Ministry of Forestry. The projects have been well organized, publicized and executed by a young and energetic staff with no almost no financial help from IRF international.
The theme of the project was "Green Project" and helped organizers to highlight issues that would serve to raise environmental conscience.
