Aphalit, Philippines—
Background: The site of the project selection was based on the foundation laid by the previous project in which the RYS worked with a Christian base community center in Aphalite. The 1986 Global RYS project generated much local good will and support from local organizations and leaders, including Bishop Perez of the Roman Catholic church

Work: RYS volunteer teams worked on the construction of part of a local hospital.
