Work: In cooperation with the Summerhill Community Development Organization RYS volunteers worked at a housing project and helped remove old concrete sidewalks and restore the grounds of the apartment complex. A second team helped sort and moved goods that were used for sale at a not-for-profit second hand handyman store. A third team worked gathering donated materials that would be used by programs guided by the Summerhill community.

Summary: The was the first self-funded project in the USA. Dr James and Nancy Burton spent over a year organizing and involving friends from the Atlanta community in hosting the RYS.
