Birmingham, Great Britain—
Duration: August 27 - September 8, 1996
Work: Work occurred in Saltley and Nechells (a part of Birmingham's inner city) a nature trail and picnic area was built and an old bus garage was made into a recycling centre and a tree nursery was formed.
Summary: This was a very solid program according to senior staff, advisors and participants and went a long way in inspiring both the UC and the interfaith community in the Birmingham area. Participants came from twenty nations and a wide religious diversity was established. Mr. David Earle has developed into an RYS leader with both the background and skills needed to establish these projects. This project should have laid a more permanent foundation for future RYS activities in Great Britain.
