Belfast, Northern Ireland— 

When: September, 1999

The RYS in seeking to create models of peace and reconciliation went to Belfast in September with the hope of inspiring a spirit of cooperation. During the project, thirty-five participants from twelve nations joined together to model and build a Peace Garden at the Columbanus Center for Reconciliation. As part of the program participants had a chance to take part in a short program at the Coriymead Center, internationally renown for its work in community building. Members of Parliament as well as social and peace workers presented education programs.
