RYS Annual Report 2006
2006 was a good year for Religious Youth Service. Thanks to the work of project developers and educators, we were able to carry out 13 international projects and give over 500 young people from 35 nations an opportunity to experience the stimulating interreligious and intercultural friendship building atmosphere of RYS.
With our leadership development programs in Jamaica and Singapore we have made a special effort at giving our alumni a chance to learn more about the methodology behind the RYS and begin on a track that we hope will lead them, not only to become more centrally involved with RYS project leadership, but furthermore will also bring our educational and project concepts to other experiential social service-learning programs.
We have restructured our International office and have created a global management team that, in cooperation with our reorganized Advisory Council, is leading the practical development of our programs and policies.
In the year 2007, we will continue to focus on developing new leadership. We will not only host leadership programs but we are also planning to hold “train the trainers” seminars and will be publishing a new global edition of our curriculum.
I want to thank all those that have supported our programs and projects.
