UPF-Russia Announces Religious Youth Service Program

UPF-Russia is now registering participants for a very interesting program called “Service of Youth from Different Religions for the Sake of Peace,” which will take place from September 21 to 22, 2016, in the city of Novosibirsk.
In this program, which is being organized as part of the Religious Youth Service, a project of UPF, participants will have opportunities for interreligious and intercultural education via learning, interaction, and creative activities. Through doing service projects the volunteers will create models of interfaith peace. Based on the wisdom of world religions and cultures, the program has been designed to encourage the intellectual and emotional growth of the participants.
The program’s aim is to form a community of young people from different regions who support interreligious collaboration.
The Program:
- A service project to help residents of a community.
- Educational training in social and peacemaking skills.
- Discussions encouraging participants’ awareness of diversity and abundance existing in world religions.
- Cultural program and excursions.
Qualified applicants will receive an official invitation, detailed information and the project program from the organizers.
Participation conditions:
For the participants who are selected, the organizers will pay the costs of the educational and cultural program, accommodation and meals.
Participants who complete the program successfully will receive a certificate.
Participants must pay for their own travel to the program site and back, as well as any accommodation costs while en route.
Participant Profile:
- Between 25 and 40 years of age;
- Interested in the development of intercultural interaction.
- Ready to spread and multiply the knowledge and skills received during the program.
- Ready to participate in all events planned in accordance with the program.
- Ready to give feedback on the program to websites and youth sites and to spread information via social networks.
