Novosibirsk, Russia—The multifaceted project "Path for Youth toward a Culture of Peace" took place from September 12 to 21, 2016.
The project, organized by the Siberian chapter of UPF in the framework of the peace initiative Religious Youth Service (RYS), brought together young people from the cities of Moscow, Yakutsk, Gorno-Altaysk and Novosibirsk.
The participants discussed and examined ways of conflict-free communication. They talked with religious leaders of different faiths and leaders of diasporas, interviewed migrants, did repairs in a village library, and talked to young people from Israel about peace projects in the Middle East.
At the end of the project the participants helped to organize a celebration of the 2016 UN International Day of Peace. Inspired by the UPF activities, the head of the City Youth Center proposed that activities for young people in development of a culture of peace should be carried out in the premises of the youth center.
