Religious Youth Service (RYS): The Power of Cooperation

United States—Youth and service learning has always been a vital component of the work of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF). However, in recent years and especially in the challenging year of 2020, much of our UPF activity has been in conferencing or online webinars. Currently, we are moving into a new era, a time when hands-on action and cooperative service will open pathways for healing, reconciliation and celebration.
The accompanying videos of the Religious Youth Service (RYS) and the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival (IPSF) show how these two successful programs visibly demonstrate the power of cooperation and service. These programs inspired those who took part, and they literally redirected the lives of thousands of young people to help them find deeper meaning and value for their lives. We know that the message they convey remains relevant, perhaps more now than ever before. UPF aims to have such programs develop, grow and make an impact on communities such as our own and will offer guidance and support when possible.
