Christmas Celebration in Frankfurt
Sunday, December 19, 2010
Frankfurt, Germany - Long hours of preparation by young and old finally bore fruit on the last Sunday before Christmas. We had a traditional Christmas Tree, Christmas cookies, plenty of candles and lovely decorated tables. Fritz Piepenburg spoke, reflecting on his decades of experience with people of other cultures and religions. Each celebrates the birth of its founder and central figure in a different way. People came from as far as 200 km away, enjoying the music of the Frankfurt choir, a recorder quartet, and a children's group interpreting the Christmas story. There was more music, group singing, and poetry readings. Everybody went back home inspired and enriched by the beautiful atmosphere and with a bit of peace in his heart, so much needed during the hectic Christmas season.
