Tbilisi, Georgia - UPF-Georgia and volunteers from Cote d’Ivoire organized park cleaning project in Tbilisi near the Tbilisi Sea area on May 25. It was the first time for Africans to participate in such program in Georgia, and they were grateful to have such opportunity.
African volunteers shared about their life in Georgia and about the problems of racism that they experience. They expressed hope that cooperation will help to change the situation and a willingness to participate in social projects together with Georgians. The day ended with a picnic, to the delight of the Africans.
Also UPF organized a presentation at School #136 for students of the 8th grade. Our African friends shared with children about African culture and their life in Georgia. At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their appreciation with loud applause, and everybody experienced a friendly atmosphere. The children were very excited, and we agreed to arrange more meetings in the future.
