Address to Africa Summit 2018, Cape Town, South Africa, Nov. 21–25, 2018
Dr. Moon, Distinguished Guests, Newly Blessed Couples, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It has been a great privilege to attend this wonderful and moving occasion here today. It has been a spectacle that has shone the light of hope not only to this nation of South Africa but to all of Africa and to the whole world.
I would like to congratulate Dr. Moon for bringing hope to humanity through this World Peace Blessing. The family is the basic unit of society and the foundation of strong nations. Through families of peace, we can bring peace to the world.
I remember when my wife and I participated in a similar blessing ceremony last August in Korea together with other dignitaries, former heads of state, speakers of parliament and religious leaders. We saw there the extraordinary enthusiasm of young new couples who have hope to build unified and loving families, which is so much needed in the world today. Young people today are losing their moral compass, and Dr. Moon is bringing hope back to them.
I offer my warmest congratulations to all those of you who are participating in this historical World Peace Blessing here in Africa. May this occasion truly mark a new beginning in the lives of each one of you and set you on the road to increased happiness and good fortune in all areas of your life. May this Blessing Movement spread through you to embrace countless other couples in the future.
I pray that the blessings of the Almighty may be upon each of you. Thank you very much!
