Address to Rally of Hope VII
September 12, 2021
Her Excellency Mother Moon, distinguished current and former heads of state and government, dear global participants of the Rally of Hope, I send you all greetings and good wishes from the peace-loving Indian citizens for your good health and wellbeing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Please stay safe and healthy.
I commend the great work of the Universal Peace Federation throughout the world promoting the brotherhood and the culture of peace under the gifted leadership of the founder, Mother Moon.
While we are participating in the 7th Rally of Hope, the world is still going through the crisis of the COVID-19 global pandemic. As we are participating in the Rally of Hope, I join with you all to keep our hope alive to the better world to come after passing through this unexpected crisis of the century.
I extend my solidarity to the Think Tank 2022 Global Forum and launch of the Asia Pacific Think Tank Secretariat in collaboration with the Asian Vision Institute based in Cambodia. These consist of several expert working groups from a wide range of sectors—government, business, academia, media, religion, and civil society—dedicated to exploring the prospects of peace in North East Asia and the World.
I believe that the Rally of Hope series, which attracts the attention of millions of viewers worldwide, will be successful in addressing the critical challenges of our time, promoting constructive dialogue and multilateral cooperation for the sake of peace and human development.
May this civil society approach of Think Tank 2022 seek to support the work of government agencies and multilateral organizations dedicated to the promotion of peace on the Korean peninsula and throughout the world.
Thank you very much.
H.E. HD Deve Gowda was the prime minister of the Republic of India from 1996 to 1997.
