India-2020-08-05-UPF-India Hosts ‘Peace Talks’ on COVID-19’s Impact on Education

New Delhi, India—UPF and the International Association of Academicians for Peace (IAAP) hosted a “Peace Talks” webinar on August 5, 2020, on the theme, “COVID-19 Impact on Education: The Way Forward.” Over 600 people participated in the virtual event: 101 through Zoom and more than 500 through Facebook Live.

The special remarks were given by Hon. Bhubaneswar Kalita, a Member of Parliament and chairman of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP)-South Asia, and the opening presentation, by Dr. Robert S. Kittel, director of education of UPF-Asia Pacific and international chair of Youth and Students for Peace (YSP).

The panelists were from academia and included Dr. P.B. Sharma, vice chancellor of Amity University, Gurgaon and chairman of the North East MP’s Forum and IAPP-South Asia; Dr. Shashikala Wanjari, vice chancellor of  SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai; and Dr. S.P. Singh, vice chancellor of the Royal Global University.
