UPF-Russia Holds Eco-Tourist Weekend

St. Petersburg, Russia—UPF led about 40 environmental volunteers in a weekend of clearing trash from a popular recreation site.
From May 21 to 22, 2022, a sunny but rather cool weekend, volunteers once again gathered in Losevo in the Leningrad Region (near the city of St. Petersburg).
This picturesque corner attracts many vacationers, fishermen, rafters, kayakers, etc. And where there are a lot of people, there is a lot of garbage—the sad reality of our civilization.
For the seventh year in a row, UPF has organized trips during which participants remove the garbage left by vacationers on the shore of the lake and at spontaneous dumps in the forest.
Volunteers happily noted that they saw less litter this time—collecting only 80 bags of garbage, whereas in the first years they collected 300 bags.
The organizers and participants sincerely thank the Vuoksa Park recreation center for the warm welcome and support. Many thanks also go to the organizers of the "Day of Happy Families" charitable festival.
One of the goals of the project is finding ways for cooperation between municipal services, businesses, specialists of various professions and fields, and just people of good will. Together we can do more!
