On November 1, a social service activity was carried out in Gama (a satellite city of Brasília) in alliance with the Assembly of God church headquarters. It included medical doctors and dentists who volunteered to offer free medical treatment and others who offered counseling in social services, nutrition and in the resolution of minor conflicts; some simply offered to trim people’s hair for free.
On November 5, Gama was host to another service project in its South Sector. This project was supported through an alliance among the City Administrator of Gama, Mr. Donizete (who was very happy with this initiative), CARP (the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principle) Brazil, and the “Gama Verde” (Gama Green) Project.
Participants had the opportunity to raise community awareness of the importance of the GPF efforts to introduce a new model of peace and implement a culture of peace in accordance with the motto, “One Family under God.” In addition, through handing out pamphlets, we were able to emphasize the importance of recycling garbage and participating in urban cleaning.
On November 6, yet another service project was held in Gama that aimed at cleaning the river’s source, in order to educate the people at the California Club how important such an effort is for preserving the well-being of society. This effort was connected to the Global Peace Festival, again working in alliance with the government of Gama, CARP Brazil and the Gama Verde Project.November 12 brought a special service project to the indigent community of “Centro Espacial da Salvação” in Gama. Volunteers engaged in cleaning activities, roof repair, and many kind expressions of conscientiousness.
November 12 brought a special service project to the indigent community of “Centro Espacial da Salvação” in Gama. Volunteers engaged in cleaning activities, roof repair, and many kind expressions of conscientiousness. We distributed food and clothes to poor families in this community, assisted in our efforts by Mrs. Claudia Andrade, wife of the City Administrator and representative of the government of Gama, CARP-Brazil, the Gama Verde project, as well as by many community residents generally. We were able to give 20 families a bag of food and a bag of clothes.
All of these local projects were part a national outreach by the Global Peace Festival in Brazil.
