Russians Join in a Springtime Week of Goodness

“Think of others by helping them” was the motto of the Universal Peace Federation volunteers who participated in the All-Russia action “Springtime Week of Goodness.” The Universal Peace Federation is focusing its efforts on supporting and educating young Ambassadors for Peace according to innovative methods of service-learning. During April, volunteers and young UPF activists organized a series of actions “Week of Goodness” in Moscow and the Moscow area, St. Petersburg, and Vladimir.
Beauty and talents Pageant “Mister and Miss University 2010.” In April and May, the “Mister and Miss University” beauty and talent pageant took place. The final event gathered together students from Moscow State University and many other Moscow universities: Peoples’ Friendship University, Moscow Economic Academy, Russia Timiryazev Academy, State University of Oil and Gas, Russia Humanitarian University, Moscow Construction University, Russia Construction University, Moscow Institute of Aviation, Russia State Service University.
Competitors participated in projects of the Springtime Week of Goodness. On April 17, they went to boarding house #17, where they washed windows as well as resurfaced and beautified the lawns for the gravely ill inhabitants of the “Charity” department.
