UPF-Malaysia Offers Condolences to Japanese People

Mr. K. Selvan, Mr. Kopalan, Rev. Sam Yeoh, Mr. Ponnudurai, and Mdm. Shanta at the embassy of Japan

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Members of UPF-Malaysia were deeply saddened and shocked by the tragedy that recently fell upon the nation of Japan. A team of UPF members led by Sam Yeoh visited the Embassy of Japan in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on March 23 to convey condolences to the government and citizens of Japan. At the embassy, they signed the official condolences book.

Leaders tendered their condolences to UPF-Japan the day after the disaster struck. The condolence message initiated by the President of UPF Malaysia, Tan Sri Devaki Krishnan, read as follows:

"On behalf of UPF-Malaysia members, I would like to express our shock and deep sadness on hearing the news of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on the 11th of March 2011. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the Japanese people and deep mourning for those victims. We pray that the country would fast overcome the tragedy and rebuild their homeland as early as possible."
