Bangkok, Thailand - Thailand is facing its worst flooding in over 50 years with the water levels as high as three meters (ten feet) in certain parts of the country. It has claimed the lives of over 500 people so far, and hundreds of thousands of people are homeless.
The Thai government and the Army are fully mobilized to drain off the flood waters, rescue people who are trapped, and provide survival kits to affected families. Some communities are neck deep in water; other places are completely submerged. Homelessness, unemployment, and diseases will be long-term challenges once the waters subside.
We will sincerely appreciate it if UPF chapters and Ambassadors for Peace worldwide could join hands to support the Thailand flood relief. Donations will be used to provide survival packs and other vital necessities for the refugees as well as to help rebuild the lives of families who have lost their homes.
