Kiev, Ukraine - UPF invited volunteers from Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhytomyr and Lviv to come to Kiev May 2-5, 2014, to help brighten the lives of children in the spirit of living in one country, regardless of the language they speak or region they are from.
The point is to learn to build a dialogue, to understand each other, and to define common concepts and values. Through volunteer projects for youth we can overcome barriers and misunderstandings. Common work brings people together.
The first task, on May 2, was to prepare the "Champion" children's stadium for soccer competitions. Boys and girls gathered together on May 2, 2014, and enthusiastically painted fences and benches at the soccer field. After that soccer officials allowed the boys to play soccer and even join the players.
On May 5 volunteers visited Special School #10, where they planted fruit trees for the children.
