UPF-Thailand Aids Victims of Earthquake in Northern Thailand

Activity3-4-06-2014 sChiang Rai, Thailand - UPF-Thailand and its Ambassadors for Peace, together with the Lions Club of Thailand, collected donations to help victims of the May 5, 2014, earthquake in Chiang Rai province. Gen. Terdsak Maromme, president of UPF-Thailand, and Dr. Lek Thaveetermsakul, secretary general of UPF-Thailand, led an expedition on June 2-4 to deliver aid to help people in the Phan, Chiang Rai and Mae Lao districts near the border with Myanmar.

The earthquake, recorded at 6.0 on the Richter scale, was the most severe ever to hit Thailand and damaged houses, temples, schools, hospitals and a road.
