Lisbon, Portugal—Books, clothes, and supplies were collected and sent to two African nations through the efforts of UPF and its affiliated organizations.
Ambassadors for Peace, the Odivelas City Council and the Portuguese Red Cross donated 33 boxes of books that were sent to São Tomé and Príncipe in October 2019.
Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), which is affiliated with UPF, received the books and handled all the logistics of distribution in the country, with the support of government authorities.
Another organization that is affiliated with UPF, Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), working together with other local associations and the Loures City Council, collected clothes and supplies over several months. On February 14, 2020, a container filled with clothes and supplies left for Mozambique to support the many victims of Cyclone Idai who still need these essential goods.
