Russia-2021-10-01-UPF Marks Harvest Fest in Moscow School

Moscow, Russia—UPF volunteers co-sponsored a gala event dedicated to the autumn harvest festival.

In the years before the Russian Revolution, the end of the harvest was a cause for celebration. Although in modern times this is not an official holiday, kindergartens and schools still hold celebrations.

The purpose of these celebrations is to encourage children to understand the value of kindness, courage, generosity, courage, patience and nobility.

So on October 1, 2021, volunteers from UPF-Moscow and the Perspective Center for Social Development, a center for volunteerism run by the Moscow city administration, held an autumn harvest celebration at St. George's School.

About 30 people attended the festival, which included songs, round dances, a dragon, knights, and a real campaign to save a princess. For several hours children immersed themselves in a fairy tale, which conveyed such eternal values as faith, kindness and mutual assistance.

These activities were followed by a walk in nature. At the end, everyone was treated to a delicious dinner, including a large pie shaped like a dragon.
