Moscow Football Event Promotes Noble Rivalry

Russia-2023-05-13-Moscow Football Event Promotes Noble Rivalry

Moscow, Russia—The Lyubertsy District of Moscow Region was the site of a Play Football for Peace tournament.

The tournament, which was held on May 13, 2023, was organized by Dmitry Samko, head of UPF-Moscow, with the support of Vladimir Volkov, the head of the district; deputy Migran Tumanov from the Spartak football school; and Vladimir Surkov, head of the Sports Committee.

Six teams competed for more than three hours, attracting the attention and support of local residents.

The players, together with the Lyubertsy District leaders, planted several trees near the football ground in support of the forest campaign.

Although real sports battles were in full swing on the football grounds, the atmosphere of friendship and peace familiar to such events emphasized the importance of the spirit of noble rivalry and the value of neighborliness. The victory was won by the Die Hard team, but all those who came to this sunny sports festival can be considered winners.

It is noteworthy that most of the tournament participants have been playing in the yard for several years, popularizing a healthy lifestyle and setting a worthy example for the younger generation.

Vladimir Volkov, the head of Lyubertsy District, acknowledged that  the level of the tournament and the  district’s attention to the football movement are growing every year. He also recognized Dmitry Samko, chairman of UPF-Moscow region, as the organizer of the tournament.
