Moscow, Russia - The winter Play Football for Peace tournament took place on the open ground in the yard of House 61 on Lyublinskaya Street in Moscow on February 2. This municipal playground is well-known in the district, being a favorite place of local enthusiasts who keep it in perfect order even during the unstable winter weather. Among the participants were both new teams ("Priority" and "Comanche") and traditional teams ("StarDvor" and Universal Peace Federation). All matches took place with much zest and in a friendly atmosphere.

The players showed desire to win and the beautiful game, but the main achievement was the joint participation in a wonderful tournament! In spite of heated football emotions, the players were always ready to lend a helping hand to the opponent; as is traditional in Play Football for Peace, before and after each game they exchanged warm handshakes. For the first time, the UPF team became champions; they scored three victories in three games. The second place was taken by the "Priority" team. The bronze medal went to the senior "StarDvor" team, who now call themselves FC "Comanche."
The main sponsor of the tournament was UPF, with the support of the grassroots association “StarDvor” and the Youth Center of the Moscow South-east District “Youth Fellowship.” The tournament was a part of the Team 2018 federal project aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and fundamental values among young people, good sportsmanship, international friendship, and good-neighborly relations.
It was especially noteworthy that even in the winter weather, when young people spend most of their time at the computer or watching TV, there are real enthusiasts who prefer active sports; they showed a good example to the younger generation!
