Russia-2021-01-06-UPF Team Plays ‘Football for Peace’

St. Petersburg, Russia—A UPF football team took part in a friendly international, interreligious football and volleyball tournament.

The UPF team motto, "Play Football for Peace," was the key motto of the tournament.

The organizer of the January 6, 2021, tournament was Vadim Polyansky, a UPF Ambassador of Peace who is the head of the Jewish community and the Maccabees St. Petersburg sports club. The tournament was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Maccabees, a Jewish sports club.

The five participating teams showed not only good physical fitness and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle but also the ability to establish strong friendships with representatives of other nationalities and cultures.
