Buenos Aires, Argentina - The second Martial Arts World Cup was held at the Avellaneda Municipality in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from October 26 to November 1, 2009. A workshop was scheduled from October 26 to 30, the preliminary tournament of form and weapons was held on October 31, and the free sparring competition on November 1.

Sportsmen from all over the world came to Korea October 12-13 for the Wongu Peace Cup, an international and intercultural sports event including football, basketball, volleyball, track and field, ping-pong, badminton, and martial arts. Athletes participated in the competitions as representatives of their native countries and continents, in an atmosphere of friendship and tolerance.

Asan, Korea - On August 14 and 15, a football tournament was held in Korea among four teams representing North, South, West and East. The North was represented by the team from Russia that also included representatives from the Ukraine and Moldova.

St. Petersburg, Russia - A Festival of National Games and Non-Olympic Sports took place at the Zerkalny Suburban Center in St. Petersburg from July 18 until August 5. Promoting a healthy lifestyle, the "Zerkalyonok – A Sporting Kid" events attracted about 350 children from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad District. The participation of UPF in this program was organized by Pavel Toloshinov, head of UPF-St. Petersburg.

Sevilla, Spain - The eyes of the footballing world were on Spain from July 24 to August 2 for the Peace Cup 2009. In the final game, Aston Villa defeated Juventus on a penalty shoot-out. Seville, Spain — In town for the finals of the fourth Peace Cup, the premier international club football competition he launched in Korea six years ago, the UPF founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon took the opportunity to share a vision of peace for Europe and the world at a celebratory program at the Barceló Renacimiento Hotel Convention Center in Seville. In addition to Ambassadors for Peace from throughout Spain, the large crowd included delegates from more than 30 European nations and from as far afield as the United States, Korea, and Japan.
