Korça, Albania—About 100 students took part in a competition in which they wrote essays inspired by the autobiography of UPF founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.
Five schools in the southeastern city of Korça participated in the project, which was a collaboration between the local branch of UPF and the city’s Department of Education.
A total of 100 copies of Rev. Moon’s autobiography, As a Peace Loving Global Citizen, were delivered to these students. Each of them, after reading the book, wrote an essay with the same title as the autobiography.
The students, who were very inspired by Rev. Moon’s life, expressed in beautiful ways their feelings and their ideas. The content of the autobiography had a wonderful impact on the teachers as well. They supported the project and helped the students to finalize their essays. The teachers were very inspired and took responsibility for developing this project.
The five winners were chosen by a jury of teachers and Ambassadors for Peace who were familiar with the UPF founders.
Approximately 300 people attended the awards ceremony on May 11, 2017, including Ambassadors for Peace, teachers, students, and public figures.
Dr. No Hi Pak and Dr. Lan Young Moon, regional advisors to UPF of Europe, were the guests of honor.
UPF-Albania thanks all the participants, students and teachers, as well as the city’s Department of Education, for their help in making this event a success.
