Argentina—Valuable testimonies were shared by some provincial representatives of 2022 Peace Road Argentina during a virtual meeting on December 7, 2022. Each one received a certificate, valuing their work and enthusiasm in the 8th edition of this global peace initiative. The 2022 theme was “Connecting Argentina through Peace,” and activities were held in each of the 23 provinces, including Buenos Aires City and Antarctica (1).
The moderators were Ambassadors for Peace Luba Opeka, UPF-Argentina public relations, and Christian Oreb, general coordinator of Red Cooperar, one of the integral entities of the 2022 Peace Road Argentina’s National Organizing Committee. Several leaders and representatives also shared their thoughts: Emanuel Sayavedra, YSP-Argentina president; Julio Nardini, IAAP-Argentina representative; Graciela Páez Báez, IAPD-Argentina representative; and Johana Ochoa, Tong il Moo do‒Argentina president.
Among the 2022 Peace Road provincial representatives who shared their testimony were: Jackeline Giusti, coordinator of the Peace Messengers “Pacis Nuntii” Movement – representative of Santa Fe province; Olama Pérez Lugo, producer and host of the radio program “El club de las ovejas negras” – representative of Corrientes; Eugenia Rosko, who represented Marcia Rosko, president of the “Victorias Misioneras” Association – representative of Misiones province; and Ana Beatriz Fleitas, president of Clorinda’s Lions Club – representative of Formosa province.
Stella Maris Miranda Reston, president of the Ruru Foundation – representative of Jujuy province; Baladeva Das, ISKCON Argentina – member of Mendoza Interreligious Council – representative of Mendoza province; Fernando Zunino, chief of the Provincial Worship Register – Ministry of Government, Justice and Worship in San Luis – representative of San Luis Province; Daniel Beninati, active member of the Argentinian Society of Santa Cruz Writers – representative of Santa Cruz province; and Nidia Luján Duarte, workshop facilitator and coordinator of Fundemos – Scouts Foundation of Children and Teenagers – representative of Tierra del Fuego province.
Some of the provincial representatives were introduced by members of the 2022 Peace Road monitoring team: Marisa Piva (Northeast region), Erika Alcaraz (Northwest region) and Ailén Marquesano (Patagonian region).
Miguel Werner, UPF-Argentina president, gave a brief introduction to 2023 Peace Road, with the objective of “finding better players”: institutional representatives of each of the 23 provinces who can create more activities along with other organizations and the cooperation of the public and private sectors, and raising the greatest number of good initiatives. He also mentioned the nomination of a 2023 host city, and the search for godparents and sponsors who allow greater outreach and greater commitments for common good through this global Peace initiative (2).
At the beginning, a video was shown on 2022 Peace Road: “Connecting Argentina through Peace” (3) and, to conclude, the music video “Yo vengo a ofrecer mi corazón” (4). We offered a toast, with concluding remarks by Marisa Pasarín, host of the radio program “Estamos sanando,” representing the various collaborators who produced and created promotional materials on 2022 Peace Road (5).
