UPF-Canada Convenes Program on "60 Years after the Sexual Revolution, Where Are We?"
Written by Robert Duffy, Secretary-General, UPF-Canada

Canada—Speaking to a Canadian audience of nearly 50 people, three speakers addressed an event hosted by UPF-Canada on the impact of the sexual revolution under the theme “60 Years After the Sexual Revolution, Where are We?” The event was held on November 26, 2022.
Prof. Harley Price, from the University of Toronto, placed this revolution in an historical and philosophical framework, expressing that it is more a justification of society’s acquiescence to sexual promiscuity than a revolution as such, and, as has always been the case historically, an invitation to social disaster.
Benoît Clotteau, psychotherapist, showed that our society has to make a choice between a culture based on free love and a culture based on faithfulness in love, the latter being more promising for society, but implies the values of altruism, of interdependence at the individual, marital and even family level.
The testimony of Jean-Chesnel Pierre, vice-principal of a high school in Montreal, brought to light the dramatic consequences that the sexual revolution has had on our youth and on the family. He outlined how the school has taken our children hostage and, to the detriment of the parents and the very values of the interveners, is imposing a permissive and reductive approach to its purely material experimentation of sexuality on children.
We have come away from this conference more convinced than ever that we cannot stand still in the face of this situation, but that action must be taken to promote a stable and harmonious family at all levels of society.
