Peace Tour Builds UPF in Zambia

Lusaka, Zambia - Mrs. Sun Myung Moon was welcomed Lusaka by former President Kenneth Kaunda, a key founding father of modern, post-colonial Africa; former Vice President Zulu; and former Prime Minister Gen. Malimba Masheke. The Mulungushi International Conference Center was packed two hours prior to the official opening of the event at which she delivered the UPF peace message.

The peace message was presented beautifully and effectively to 1000 people. Among the comments after the event were the following:

"I cannot measure the benefit of Mother Moon’s visit to Zambia," former Prime Minister Maasheke said. "Such a very, very tremendous blessing. When we look around the world from the Middle East to Korea, we see the conflict and struggle, and can see how important is the message we received."

Other people in the audience were similarly moved:

Rev. Sakala, Former Human Rights Chairman for Zambia: "At the event I happened to sit next to a person who asked me, 'What is is about these people that makes them so special and so attractive?' I took the opportunity to share my experience where I met not only people from every African nation, but people of all nations and every religion. I explained that UPF addresses the core root issues."

Professor M. Beele, Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Zambia: "The message we heard was so profound, striking at the heart. One of my colleagues asked me, 'What are you going to that event?' I said, 'This is the UPF. I cannot effectively understand and relate to and address the critical issues  facing the youth of today’s world, the students at my university, without the benefit of UPF’s vision."

Evangelist Esther Odeani, United Church of Zambia: "This has been such a great day. Jesus spoke continually about peace. Through UPF we rediscover our true selves."
