IAYSP-DR Congo Observes UN International Day of Peace

DR Congo—IAYSP-Democratic Republic of Congo observed the International Day of Peace, 2023 edition and appointed a Youth Ambassador for Peace. The event, a Youth Forum for Peace, was held on September 21, 2023, with the theme: “Towards a paradigm of youth leadership in the emergence of the nation and the holding of peaceful elections.”
This Forum sought to sensitize the leaders of youth organizations and those of civil society on the culture of peace, patriotism, tolerance and other behaviors to adopt during this period when the Congolese government is preparing to organize the upcoming elections which we all want to be free, transparent and peaceful. The activity was attended by more than 100 youth leaders from all over the city of Kinshasa.
At the same time, the vice-president of the National Youth Council in charge of gender issues was elevated to the rank of Youth Ambassador for Peace.
