Guatemala-2009-03-27-Peace Tour in Guatemala Builds Networks

Guatemala - Fifteen Ambassadors for Peace and several youth leaders participated in a program about creating “One Family Under God.” The keynote message was given by Ismael Mendez, a youth leader. The audience was very inspired by the message and the motto.

Mrs. Ana Catalina Soberanis Reyes, the first woman President of Congress in Guatemala, described her participation in the World Peace Summit in New York City at the beginning of the year.

Later, Rev. Gerhard Bessell explained about the importance of publicizing the work of Ambassadors for Peace in Guatemala, as well as the need for Ambassadors for Peace to network among themselves in Guatemala.

The high point of this event was the recognition of two Ambassadors for Peace, Mrs. Norma Quixtan, Secretary of Peace from 2004 to 2008, and Mr. Desidoro Veliz, a businessman in Guatemala.

Both of them have devoted years of time and effort to open the way for Ambassadors for Peace to work in government and business respectively.

After the official conclusion of the event, participants were invited to a small lunch and discussion, which gave everyone time to share about their work and advances in the different areas of the country.
