Buenos Aires, Argentina—UPF-Argentina’s Peace Council held a meeting on March 3, 2016 at the Embassy for Peace in Buenos Aires. A video about UPF’s initiatives and activities was shown, which provided a deeper understanding of UPF’s vision for peace as well as how Ambassadors for Peace can help fulfill UPF’s founding mission.
As is done at every Council meeting, a reading-reflection was shared at the beginning. Mrs. Rosetta Conti de Castellón, president of Women’s Federation for World Peace-Argentina, read an excerpt from UPF Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s speech, “Heart.” In his speech, he emphasizes that love comes after unity, so that we can fulfill God’s ideal. Also at the beginning of the meeting, all the attendees, which included new members of the Council, introduced themselves and shared their thoughts.
Afterwards, Mr. Miguel Werner, secretary general of UPF-Argentina, gave a presentation entitled, “Initiatives and Action Framework.”
UPF-Argentina’s upcoming activities, including its celebrations of International Women’s Day and World Water Day, were also shared. Pastor Alba Rosa Contardo, a new member of the Council, offered a prayer. Mrs. Orfa Pérez, secretary of the Council, organized the event.
