Paramaribo, Suriname—UPF-Suriname is hosting a radio program every Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. on the government radio station Radio Boskopu 93.5 FM.
We have to move to the next level and make people aware that violence is wrong and that the consequences have an adverse impact on peace and human development. I will keep on empowering women and educating men their responsibilities. And this time I ill not do that only from an “against violence” approach but also from one in favor of love, peace and harmony.
Paramaribo, Suriname - Ambassadors for Peace participated in a training program on Nov. 30 about helping men with an impulse for domestic violence. Eleven people attended the five-hour training offered by Dr. Iwoma Smoktunowiscz, a psychiatrist from the Netherlands.

Tolerance and solidarity must replace discrimination and lack of understanding. Governments have the obligation and responsibility to create and sustain a peaceful world with sufficient opportunities for the next generations.

Brokopondo, Suriname - Twenty-one Religious Youth Service participants spent Aug. 15-26, 2008 clearing bush and debris from the war-torn community of Brokopondo, clearing a path to a multipurpose court which had also been abandoned since the time of the military coup in 1980, and restoring playground equipment.
