Thessaloniki, Greece - The Women's Federation for World Peace International and its Japanese chapter organized the 15th Conference for Peace in the Middle East in Thessaloniki, Greece from May 24 to 27. Forty women from 20 countries of the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East gathered to discuss the theme "Women in War and Reconstruction."

Athens, Greece - On May 3, Rev. Sun Myung Moon announced that he wanted to give his proclamation "Building a World of Universal Peace at a Time of Global Crisis" in Athens, the birthplace of European civilization. As a result some 500 Unificationists and Ambassadors for Peace eagerly converged the next day in the capital of Greece for the fourth speech of the European leg of the UPF Founders’ World Tour.

We learned at very short notice that the UPF Founder, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, would give a public address in Athens on May 4 at the Athens Ledra Marriott Hotel. Ambassadors for Peace in Greece were given a special invitation to this special program, sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation on the theme, "Building a World of Universal Peace at a Time of Global Crisis." This program was part of the Founders' European Peace tour which began in Madrid on April 25.
